Skin tips to clear up acne prone skin with a holistic approach

Acne, breakouts and blackheads are a common concern among teens, adolescents and adults alike.

Acne is common and is usually treatable. You may need treatments for several months to clear spots. Inflamed acne needs to be treated early to prevent scarring. Since many of us are home now quarantined at home due to coronavirus. Coming in for professional facials and acne treatments is are not possible. I decided to create Facial kits clients can do at home.

After we do the skin consult I will customize a skincare acne "at home skin care kit" to achieve the best results. During this time it is important to stick to a skincare routine. Over the years many people share that do not have enough time.

This is the perfect time to achieve healthy skin.

Holistic master esthetician and trainer, Leslie Morand suffered from acne as a young teen. Through her own skin and health journey she has formulated a natural approach to clearing up acne. Her mission is to help others either private clients or education other estheticians can use for the clients.

She knows personally how this can affect someone's confidence and self esteem at any age.

There are several reasons why someone has acne. Usually it is a hormonal imbalance. Can be increased by certain stress, foods, skincare products, topical medicines and makeup products that are not right for your face.

Currently many people are still having maskne added to there skin concerns .

Maskne is were you are breaking out from wearing a face mask for many hours through out the day. We now carry skincare products to help with that.

Stress management is also part of the holistic approach to healing the skin. When you are stressed it releases cortisol which increases a hormonal imbalance of progestogen and testosterone. I recommend finding ways to help with the daily life stress. These are a few things that help myself to manage stress walking, detox baths, dancing, tapping, qigong and deep breathing.

Many acne skin care and make up products have ingredients that cause sensitivity's, irritations and increase estrogen. I have been researching ingredients in skincare products for year's.

Still today a product can say it is organic, natural or clean and still cause more issues.

There are a few ingredients that are common in acne products that I do not recommend.

One of the common ingredients is benzoyl peroxide. .What happens to the skin is it causes so much stress and irritation that it generates free radicals that damage the the skins barrier and cellular DNA that results in premature aging. Some people get a result in the beginning, yet after time it stops working. It destroys the good and bad bacteria in the skin.

Then the skin is left red and extremely sensitive.

Another common ingredient in acne skin care products is retinol. Which is in Retin A and many products. I am not a fan of this ingredient for many reasons. Long term retinol can damage the skin. "If you're overusing your retinol, or if you're using a retinol that's too strong for you, it can lead to peeling, irritation, and excessive dryness, which may have led to retinol's association with skin thinning, This can increase redness and even lead to rosacea.

The other one is glycolic acid. Many people over use this ingredient which leads to sensitizing the skin.

However, as with all chemical exfoliants, using glycolic acid too frequently, at too high a concentration, or incorrectly can result in skin irritation or damage.

Yes, glycolic acid increases your risk of sunburn.

Tip One:

A few ingredients to avoid are coconut oil, mineral oil and talc.

They tend to clog the pores and increase sebaceous glands leading to break outs.

There many more skincare ingredients I would not recommend if you have acne

Tip Two: Use Clear Skin Serum

I formulated this hormone safe blend to help with acne, break outs, scarring, lines and pigmentation with out damaging the skin. It is to be used at night time under your moisturizer.

Tip Three: Wash your pillow case every couple days to not spread the bacteria. Also wash your make up brushes daily after every use.

Tip Four:

Avoid using face and baby wipes daily on your face. Most of them are not biodegradable and bad for the environment first of all. Secondly look at the ingredients many of them have mineral oil, alcohol, and paraben's. It is better to use a cleanser that is ph. balanced and will purify and detox your face daily with out irritating your skin.

Tip Five:

Avoid shampoos with sodium laurel sulphates. That is the ingredient that gives your shampoo foam. It also can clog and irritate your skin.

Tip Six

There are certain supplements that can help with the immune system which in turn help to have a clear complexion. Click the link below to see the recommendations and receive a discount.
